ABSTRACT
The improvement system focuses on making the organization better so that its activity can affect the entire organization. The improvement system coordinates all of the improvement efforts across the organization through connections to each work system and management system. Formalization will give the program a permanent place as a sub-system in the organization's improvement system and will expand the adoption of safety glasses by including the procedure in standard work that gets reviewed regularly. The improvement sub-system map identifies the name of the improvement sub-system and the leader. Sub-system team members generally come from many different parts of the organization, which creates a cross-functional team. The current state of improvement programs includes a lot of activity with very little documented standard work. The improvement log captures assignments related to improving the sub-system. Improvement sub-systems will have only a few key performance indicators.
