ABSTRACT

The management systems optimize the whole organization by strengthening the connections and communication within and between all systems. The management systems are the responsibility of executives or upper-level management of the organization. The management system leader provides direction for defining systems and creating system maps. System reports will help the managers and leaders focus their system improvement efforts. Examples of system reports might include current system maps, system map assessments, improvement-related reports (idea generation and kaizen), improvement training, and improvement projects. A management system improvement log contains assignments to improve the management system. A good indication of a lack of focus on leadership development is that no key performance indicators (KPIs) are identified for leadership development. The Shingo system maps provide a structured format for visualizing, planning, practicing, reviewing, and improving systems. A KPI is an output that can be measured, counted, and visualized with an associated goal.
