ABSTRACT

Vision can be defined as, ‘a thought, concept, or object formed by the imagination.’ The key to crafting an organizational vision lies in the assessment of days past, present state and ideal future state. This chapter details few tools visionary leaders will need to succeed in high-risk market environments. The first step in creating a transformational vision is considering a market journey map. The second tool visionary leaders will need to succeed is an organizational roadmap. The organizational roadmap is simply a future vision of next steps the organization must take to be successful long-term. The organizational road map will depend on the current market, the organization's structure, available resources and the expected road ahead. The next tool visionary leaders will need to succeed is the five-year strategic plan. One of the greatest tools any thought leader can have is a risk assessment tool. The final tool thought leaders need is a review cycle.
