ABSTRACT

Chapter 1 contains basic information on the subject of research and its justification. The current situation in Tibet is described and explained as the basis of the research. The research questions and hypotheses are set out. The value orientation of education in the Tibetan regions with detailed survey data on cultural knowledge and the actual social situation is analysed. The survey is designed to gain an understanding of the attitudes of Tibetan students, parents and teachers towards education. The possibilities of interventions are discussed. Key terms that are used in the research are as follows. Value: The definition of value varies in different dictionaries and works. Value orientation: A value preference that evolves into a significant belief after a long period of time. Value orientation of education: The value orientation of education means the intention or tendency of the subject of educational value while making value setting and value expectation against the educational object according to the educational needs. Adolescents with a disability: In this research, adolescents with a disability refer to adolescents aged 13–18 who have hearing, visual and mental disabilities. Special education interventions: A special education intervention refers to the diagnosis, treatment, education and training of children with special needs.
