ABSTRACT

Chapter 4 presents information about the following research. This study adopted the methodology of combining qualitative and quantitative research. This chapter describes the methodology, including both quantitative and qualitative approaches. The qualitative approach was concerned with documents of several types. Classical Tibetan works (including literature, history, Buddhism, and others) to learn about the value orientation and value orientation of education in traditional Tibetan culture. Next also collecting earlier relevant research documents on special education interventions and their contents and the implementation and methods of special education in the Tibetan areas to obtain research theories, ideas, and methods that can be used for reference purposes.

For quantitative research in this study, specific questionnaires were designed to investigate the value orientation of education in the Tibetan regions. The focus is on the educational concepts of students, parents and teachers in regular middle schools and special education schools. There are three types of questionnaires for different subject groups: students, parents and teachers. The theoretical basis of special education interventions mainly discusses the supporting theory of the possibility and feasibility of special education interventions aimed at disabled adolescents.
