ABSTRACT

Successful integration of an educational technology is marked by that technology being regarded by users as an unobtrusive facilitator of learning, instruction, or performance. Technology integration is perhaps the most challenging and complex aspect of designing educational environments and systems of instruction, which is why integration is treated separately from design, although it is clearly an important design consideration. The way to judge successful technology integration is when the focus shifts from the technology to the content and learning outcomes. Technology integration in education should enhance learning, performance, and/or instruction. Stakeholders should be informed and key users should be properly trained on new technologies.
