ABSTRACT

Technologies change what people do, what they can do, what they want to do, and what they want to avoid doing. Technologies are changing rapidly. There are many different opinions regarding how technology can and should be used to support learning, instruction, and performance. Among recent technologies is the use of big data and learning analytics to support learning, instruction, and performance. A different use of technology is to have learners engage with the subject matter through the use of a technology, as typically occurs in an interactive simulation or virtual reality environment. Technologies provide different levels of support. For some technologies, simply advise the user regarding a variety of options based on some initial conditions and considerations.
