ABSTRACT

This chapter examines how women comedians use TikTok. This includes Lauren Godwin, Brittany Broski, and Sarah Cooper, focusing on their skill in working within the platform's conventions of cringey and intersectional comedy, shaping their critical reputations. Additionally, this chapter argues that because of inherent differences in production and ideology, women comedians on TikTok often fail to sustain their careers in mainstream media, or breakthrough at all.
