ABSTRACT
Substance from Aristotle onward has been regarded as the ultimate object of scientific investigation, but Hegel points out from the dialectical viewpoint that the objective world can only be truly understood based on the human being’s own subjectivity. Substance therefore is nothing other than objective thought and the traditional ontological proof of God’s existence finds the grounds of its revival from this objective thought.
