ABSTRACT

In keeping with the philosophical and methodological approach to the research of this book, that appreciates all processes of being (in recovery) as ongoing, this addendum is positioned as a coda rather than a conclusion.

Drawing together the threads of discussion on addiction-recovery arts, it spotlights new possibilities for the future of this area of practice as a connected movement of expressions of recovery communities. In particular, it charts the advent of an Addiction Recovery Arts (ARA) network that is steadily growing and reaching outwards beyond the UK. Through knowledge exchange initiatives, such as the ARA launch event hosted at the University of West London in September 2012 and the creation of the Performing Recovery magazine, it illustrates how recovery-engaged connection and collaboration are immanently possible and contribute to the regeneration of a field of practice that has been hitherto disparate and not well known.
