ABSTRACT

This chapter opens with the author’s eating disorder recovery/body obsession history and documents her journey to becoming an eating disorder clinician. Against this background, she introduces the topic of body neutrality and differentiates it from body positivity, noting specific benefits documented in research and in her practice.

The chapter concludes with three guided activities, including a body neutral affirmation exercise, an assessment of current body neutrality, and a journaling prompt focused on exploring the four aspects of body image.
