ABSTRACT

This concluding chapter renders Professor Subedi’s personal reflections and appraisal of his own life, and sums up his journey, both literally and metaphorically, from a simple village in the foothills of the Nepal Himalayas to the life of a global citizen in Britain with meritorious accomplishments. It highlights Professor Subedi’s contributions to policymaking in the international arena and how his global outlook has proved invaluable on implementing his mandates in a number of international organisations. It includes examples of his international roles, such as those in the UN and the IUCN, where he was able to transcend the traditional divide between East and West, developing and developed world, and Global South and Global North to arrive at solutions that are acceptable to all sides.
