When transformation initiatives are brought together with aligned organizational values and behaviors the stage is set for rapid achievement of breakthrough results in terms of both business outcomes and culture change.

This chapter shifts forward along the transformation launch roadmap to the align phase. The Transformation Leader and the Senior and Extended Leadership Teams still must flesh out the bottom of the transformation arrow. They first must translate the corporate level areas of focus and outcome metrics by division and department before developing their own commitments to action to support each of the three to four transformation initiatives. They also have to articulate a set of values that align with the transformation initiatives, to which they must make corresponding personal behavioral change commitments. Finally, the leadership team must scrub these constructs with a rigorous stop doing exercise to avoid overloading their organization with initiative gridlock.

Only then will the Transformation Leader be ready to initiate the Engage Phase in which everyone goes through a streamlined version of the transformation game plan their executive leaders have wrought, known as the Rapid, High-engagement, All-employee Cascade ™.
