ABSTRACT
This chapter is unapologetically rangy, using the related foci of animals and food to take students on a conversational and potted history through some complex disciplinary terrain. The chapter engages students in ideas and practices that are everyday – and that bear anthropological, uncommon, inspection. Students are encouraged in this chapter to turn to these most ordinary of experiences to, once again, apply their burgeoning anthropological knowledge.
