ABSTRACT

This concluding chapter invites the students to consider the relations of power and domination in which they are involved as student members of the university. This conclusion could be depressing – but it is written in such a way as to motivate students to think about how they might bring a number of futures – urgent futures – into the present by questioning their own positions of privilege. The chapter isn’t intended only to bring our book full circle, in the sense that we realise the yield of the students’ focus on the institution; it invites that knowledge to be pressed into the service of making futures that cannot wait for hierarchical conditions to change arrive now. The broadest question in the offing is, what will you do with your anthropology, and the insights it’s given you into the institution in which you’re enrolled, and of which you are a budding anthropologist?
