ABSTRACT

This chapter sets to introduce the reader to the book by revealing its overall objective in weaving queer into the question of decolonisation in Palestine. It problematises conventional lenses used to conceptualise queerness in Palestine and demonstrates the significance of the approach that the book undertakes. The chapter situates the book’s inquiry within the analytical tools offered by decolonial, native feminist, and queer scholars. These conceptual frameworks tally with the methodological ground of a decolonial ethnography from which the book proceeds to engage with activist/artist workspaces and productions. Finally, the chapter offers an outline of each of the coming chapters to help guide the reader through the arguments made in the book.
