General Introduction

This chapter presents the general introduction including the context, background and rationale of the book. The chapter will answer the research question (RQ.1): how is Nigeria’s Fourth Republic militarised? Importantly, in this chapter I will provide a scan of Nigeria’s Fourth Republic, identifying and analysing the latent and explicit manifestation of militarisation in its ‘democratic’ institutions including security/defence, justice and the general public sphere and space.
