ABSTRACT
This concluding chapter considers the prospect of any progressive social change that can lead to a stable and demilitarised democracy. In this chapter, factors that constitute a threat to such desirable outcomes are enumerated and discussed, as well as those that present an opportunity to achieve a stable and demilitarised democracy. Additionally, experiences gained and lessons learned from over 20 years of practising democratic rule are highlighted.
