ABSTRACT

This chapter draws together all of the techniques described in the book so far, and examines how they can be applied to real-world scenarios of all types, including productions spread across multiple recording sessions or situations where you have access to a multi-room recording environment or a professional studio. There's advice on handling the logistics of large-scale recording sessions by delegating workload, managing multiple stands/cables, and introducing equipment redundancy, plus recommendations for improving productivity and efficiency. As MIDI-driven software drum/orchestra instruments are so commonly used these days, there are specific suggestions about how to improve your results when working with those, as well as tips for incorporating sampled loops and phrases into your production.
