ABSTRACT

Total Inclusivity in a university is not simply the strategic application of certain practices, systems and procedures. Its implementation should be understood and instigated on two levels – the systematic and the subjective, or as we state in Chapter 13, the strategic and the empathetic. It must connect directly to the subjectivity, the very identity, of every member of the school/university, indeed every member of any institution that is committed to this process. This requires an awareness and understanding of privilege, one which engages with our unconscious biases.
