ABSTRACT
This chapter defends phenomenal conservatism against some immediate concerns, including the objection that it is too liberal in doling out justification, that it “double counts” evidence, that it allows for circular justification or bootstrapping, and that it cannot sustain the common sense response to skepticism as advertised. Along the way, it advocates for the plausibility of a common sense response to skepticism grounded in phenomenal conservatism.
