ABSTRACT

In this chapter, we will describe in detail how we supported a group of experienced educators in transitioning their practice to an online classroom. Specifically, we will expand on how we trained teachers on the three research-based frameworks introduced in Chapter 1, as well as best practices and tools to use in online learning. Featured in the chapter will be specific activities we led during teacher professional development, strategies to cross-pollinate effective ideas between teachers, and the evolution of our teachers within an online space. We share specific strategies for teacher reflection and growth and identify five important practices for leaders of online schools to keep in mind.
