ABSTRACT
Conducting a review of literature is a critical component of any research effort. It is important to know what others say or know about a topic in order to support the contribution of your research to the existing knowledge on a topic. In traditional research articles, scholars are expected to include a review of the existing research literature related to the topic at hand. Usually such an article would be a report of the results of an experiment. The gold standard for an experiment would include several factors: experimental and control groups would be formed at random; a drug or placebo would be administered to determine its effect on an outcome; statistical tests would be used to test hypotheses about the effectiveness of the drug. The Library of Congress opened on April 24, 1800. In 1814 British troops burned the Capitol building where the collection was housed.
