ABSTRACT

In an ideal world, qualitative research will continue to grow and challenge those who find it exciting. The voices of all are having a greater impact than ever before. The power of such movements as MeToo or Black Lives Matter has touched many. Technology has changed many aspects of qualitative research. Technology also contributes to other aspects of qualitative research. Using search engines, browsers, and qualitative data analysis programs has vastly improved the ability to locate information worldwide. Technology that contributes to other kinds of data is available. It is only through the creativity of researchers and participants that we see evidence of many visual components. Since the beginning of a systematic study of and about education that began with Rice's study of the best way to teach spelling and until about the 1980s, the field has been dominated by white men.
