ABSTRACT

This chapter begins with contrasting definitions of traditional and learner-centered/SEL classrooms, followed by teacher or observer checklist examples and criteria for determining if a classroom is student-centered, and many “quick-as-a-wink” strategies for the teacher who wants to enter class the next day and immediately use student-centered strategies.

There are 28 sample activities in this chapter, described in sufficient detail that a teacher can easily implement them as presented r can understand the intent and modify them to the style of the teacher.
