ABSTRACT

Bringing together the structure and skills necessary for PlayBreaks, this chapter walks teachers through the steps of conducting PlayBreaks. In addition, the author offers multiple scenarios of PlayBreak special considerations and circumstances with guidance on how to navigate these events. Because PlayBreaks are designed to be enhancing for both teacher and child, this chapter helps teachers to decide when children are in need of more intense mental health intervention and need to be referred for services. Finally, the chapter includes a structure for teachers to reflect on their experiences in facilitating PlayBreaks.
