ABSTRACT
Chapter 1 deals with the purpose and background of the book. It specifically takes into account the various definitions of third-party governance in addition to the perspective from which the book is written, which is primarily from a management perspective. The book closes by discussing the unique accountability issues that are introduced by third-party governance in addition to the organization of the text.
