ABSTRACT

In early 2020, several cases of pneumonia of unknown origin were detected in Wuhan, and China. Days later, its cause became known: a new coronavirus. One of the main measures to stop the spread of the novel coronavirus is home confinement, and meaning that one can only leave one’s home to perform essential tasks such as the buying basic necessities. Most educational institutions and centers were closed. Services began to be provided virtually, and teleworking became the norm. During the initial moments of the pandemic, when solutions were urgently needed, this tool represented an alternative mean of achieving them. However, this major global crisis represented a considerable challenge. This chapter also presents an overview on the key concepts discussed in this book.
