ABSTRACT

This section introduces the reader to maestro Luigi Prisco and his collection of letters, as well as to the main characters of the book and the historical period they relate to. Main points of reference will then be gradually given in order to acquaint the reader with the correspondence between Prisco and Senator Di Marzo, which is the main subject of this research. Lastly, we will clarify the origins of the book and the microhistorical methodology which has been used in its preparation. Focus will be given to the strength of maestro Prisco’s determination and his desire for redemption, in such a way as to endear the reader to his story.
