ABSTRACT

Like in a novel, albeit devoid of fiction, the preamble introduces the reader to Luigi Prisco at the time of his Atlantic crossing in May 1902, reconstructing his inner world through his letters. Through examination of the sources, we can begin to understand the man’s agency. The reader is then introduced to some of the auto-fictional and self-representational aspects of Prisco’s letters to Senator Di Marzo, thereby helping us understand his journey of self-identity reconstruction and representation following his emigration to the United States.
