ABSTRACT

Cooperation is one of the oldest survival strategies since time immemorial. In the stone age, humans were helpless when encountering predatory animals, they used cooperation as a survival strategy. In the present information age and the scientific revolution, the need for cooperation and interaction to confront future challenges for progress has also become imperative. Cooperative learning is an adjective term used to describe working or acting together to achieve a common goal. Cooperative learning is not a new concept. Various social theorists such as Alport, Watson, and Shaw have initiated a movement toward cooperativeness in the teaching-learning environment. The cooperative learning environment is the most commonly used teaching strategy in a lab-based learning environment. The most widely used cooperative learning method is formal cooperative learning. In an informal cooperative learning environment, students are working together temporarily.
