ABSTRACT
This chapter discusses the Learning Management System (LMS) and Learning Content Management System (LCMS). It provides an overview and detailed discussion of the LMS and LCMS so that a reader can gain a rich knowledge of modern and sophisticated technologies. The major aspect of the LMS is the administration of learning-related activities. Though the learning management system is a comparatively new concept in the field of education it has a long history. The teaching machine could administer and evaluate multiple-choice questions automatically. The actual features of a learning management system depend upon the requirement of the product and its performance. An illustration depicts the overview of the functional aspect of learning management system. The teaching and learning process is a complex task. It requires effective control over administration, development of curriculum, effective communication, management of content materials, training of teachers for trainers, etc.
