ABSTRACT

The Introduction first identifies contemporary challenges in the field of education and explains how the culturally responsive experiential education (CREE) model was developed as a response to some of the challenges noted. The Introduction provides a concise overview of the topics in each specific chapter in order to demonstrate how the chapters conceptually build upon each other. The beginning chapters detail the theoretical foundation of the model; the middle chapters include and discuss research findings related to the use of the model; and the concluding chapter theorizes future applications of the CREE model. The Introduction specifies that the intended audience for this work is experiential education (EE) instructors who lead EE programs in higher education settings. Lastly, the Introduction defines important key terms used throughout the work.
