ABSTRACT

This chapter highlights how the culturally responsive experiential education (CREE) program impacted research participants three years post-sojourn. Through arts-based research data collection and data analysis, this chapter explores the ways in which the research participants grew on their decolonization journeys in two broad categories: building connections and nurturing belonging. This chapter includes ten participant narratives that were collected in 2022. Each participant narrative is followed by a short discussion to analyze personal decolonization journeys. The data revealed that by participating in a program that used the CREE model, present moments in their personal and professional lives have been altered as a result of the experiential education (EE) program.
