ABSTRACT

We have all heard the same old story of school – so much content to remember, lots of tests, and a ton of stress about grades. Year after year, it’s a story schools force their students to write. This chapter offers a clear mission of what teachers are capable of achieving. Readers will reflect on what they know to be true about their wisdom as teachers, what they may need to unlearn from poor traditional training, and what actions they can take to begin the process of being Purpose-Driven. This book ends with a vision of hope and a call to action – Purpose-Driven Learning truly holds the power to transform our teaching and our students’ learning – a story of lifelong learning that will continue to be written long after their time in our schools.
