ABSTRACT

Whether doing something they love or having to complete a less than desirable task, an enthusiastic attitude can help our students unlock the power of healthy positivity. This chapter shares the story of Bob Krohn, the director of a boys’ summer camp, who always saw the best in every day and the best in every camper. With research that supports the health benefits of positivity, this chapter promotes the importance of intentionally seeking hope, joy, and enthusiasm. Hope can be courageous, joy can be rebellious, and enthusiasm can be contagious – teachers need to promote a “Yes, I Can” attitude, even on the rainiest of days.
