Interview with Sheetal Agarwal, founder of Indian medical clowning group Clownselors. First encounters with medical clowning; initial learning curve and intersection with practicing clowns; description of early efforts to perform as clowns in a hospital setting. Further discussion of methods, particular focus on the nature of culture as a bridge – and a barrier – to communication and connection.
