ABSTRACT

Why is it important to design for mental health and well-being? Why is nature a solution? What are some of the common gaps in knowledge on the human-nature relationship for health? Why do we need to focus on the quality of green space design rather than the quantity? What is the role of rigorous scientific research in the design of healthier cities and how can neuroscience play a role? And finally, what is the difference between decreasing the burden of the city on mental health and actually improving well-being?
