ABSTRACT
This chapter introduces the topic of gender inequity and provides an overview of the book. It first describes the topics of gender diversity and equity in the context of public affairs discipline and the academy. Then, it describes the book's methodological approach, and it presents the profile of the survey and interview participants based on their individual characteristics. The chapter concludes with a presentation of the scope and organization of the book.
