ABSTRACT

This introduction presents an overview of the key concepts discussed in the subsequent chapters of this book. The book provides background knowledge on the topic and reflection activities as well as strategies for bolstering the readers' teacher talk through strategic modeling. It explores the research that supports bolstering vocabulary with teacher talk. The book investigates practical strategies and tools in order to bolster their teacher talk. The strategies, all of which have been used successfully in the classroom, offer ideas for teachers of all different levels and subject areas. The book dives into the application of modeling teacher talk through a myriad of strategies. Many of these strategies can be adapted to any level.
