ABSTRACT
In this chapter, the author defines antiracist pedagogy, distinguishing it from and situating it within other critical pedagogies (i.e. culturally relevant/responsive pedagogy, multiculturalism, social justice pedagogy). Then the roots of educational inequity are linked to historical racism as a means of understanding the necessary shift to antiracist teaching and learning practices.
