ABSTRACT

The book concludes with a short description of the current predicament of the institute: like at the closing of 1980s when it was transitioning from one generation of members to another, so is the institute now in the 2020s. And again the transition is not smooth. The younger people ask for changes, while the senior members are concerned that the younger members did not yet grasp the unique ways of the institute. The question is raised whether the international membership, which did not have the opportunity to create bonding among each other as the senior members had, can sustain the liveliness of the institute in the years to come.
