ABSTRACT

In an introduction, the basic reasons of writing the book are described – one of them is author’s expertise in the history of the Soviet Union, based on his five-year working period at the former KGB archive of Georgian SSR, the possibility that discovered for him the necessity of approximation to historical truth/past using different approaches and methodologies. The meaning of the term ‘history’ as well as the importance of the primary and secondary historical sources are also discussed in the introduction; at the end, the short description (of one paragraph) of each chapter is offered.
