ABSTRACT

This chapter offers a discussion on a wide range of questions, among which the objective of methodology and the specialized normative rules and types of their reconstruction are detectable. From the scientific perspective, the methods and theories of historical studies are overviewed. In particular, three types of historical methods are analyzed. Historical epistemology and historical methodology, as well as Rankean empiricism, and the New History are characterized. Post-empiricism and post-positivism as a new view on historical knowledge are studied. Historical discourse, subjectivity, and ideology are approximated from multidisciplinary paradigm.
