ABSTRACT

In business, you will mostly make decisions about the here and now, but there is an alternative time scale. Sharing information or decision-making with your staff can encourage contributions you might not expect. It is also helpful for understanding the potential in people and learning what they care about – what they say can reveal a lot about them. Look at the core CPD available and consider showing the list to non-architectural staff– such as administration staff – so they can choose a topic of particular interest to them. Often, local government organisations or education and training networks will link up with colleges to offer learning at reduced rates to businesses within their catchment area. All members of staff deserve to be treated equally, which includes making demands of them and meeting their needs fairly.
