ABSTRACT

The dual historical sociological and political science approach towards leghismo in this book has illustrated how the context in which a political and social movement operates is that which makes it unique to its time in terms of purpose, objectives, and individual endeavour. This allows for a greater understanding of how and why the Lega has changed and continues to change to this day. At the same time, it also reveals that the Lega has always remained attached to some core elements which can be traced back to the first wave of activism in the 1950s. This chapter returns to the three questions posed in the introduction to summarise the key contributions of this book.
