ABSTRACT

This chapter covers the criminal laws, i.e. Sodomy laws, Anti-discriminatory laws, Prison Laws, Judicial Verdicts, Hate Laws from different continents. It discusses existing International Cooperation in Criminal Justice along with existence of sexual minority in International Criminal Law. The chapter deals with Best Practices in the matters of sexual minorities with the police at International Level are cited. It argues that Disclosure of Sexual Orientation/Gender Identity, Crime and Victimology. European Union Member States are active in creating the legal environment to combat discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity, although a lot still remains to be done. Several national governments in Europe and European organizations such as the European Union (EU), the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) and the Council of Europe (CoE) are dealing increasingly with the issue of hate crime.
