ABSTRACT
The chapter offers an analysis of González Casanova’s concept of democracy to gauge its analytical power from a Latin American perspective as opposed to the Euro-American versions. Within González Casanova’s notion of democracy are universal contents that could hardly be found in European or American political philosophy.
