ABSTRACT

This chapter looks at the context of conversations and why we need to pay more attention to what we say and how we talk to each other, both inside and outside organisations. We examine why something that sounds simple can be so hard to do and how advancements in neuroscience have helped us to understand the effect our brains have on the way we connect through dialogue. As we lurch from one global event to another, we shine a light on the critical reasons for changing the conversation and what we might expect if we don’t.
