ABSTRACT

This chapter introduces the framework of Conversational Wisdom®. We start with an overview of our research which identified three essential pillars to engaging in a meaningful conversation: being aware, being skilled, and being human. We explain why we chose the word ‘wisdom’ before briefly describing each of the three pillars and our intention behind how the framework is used, namely not in a linear or formulaic way, but rather an approach that helps us strengthen our human connection through the power of conversation. Finally, we share a story to illustrate the impact of being conversationally wise in the workplace.
